Saudi Govt Stresses Kingdom’s Support to Security, Stability of Sudan

The Saudi government praised on Tuesday the Sudanese parties for signing a deal to relaunch a transition towards democratic elections.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The government stressed the Kingdom’s support for everything that would help achieve peace and consolidate security, stability and growth in Sudan.

The ministers highlighted the United Nations’ selection of Riyadh to launch the Global Humanitarian Overview 2023. The move reflects Saudi Arabia’s distinguished global standing and its presidency of the major donors group where it seeks to unify joint efforts and boost international cooperation to achieve the targets of sustainable development and eradicate poverty.

The ministers were briefed on the messages received by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz from Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah. They were also briefed on the telephone call between Crown Prince Mohammed and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

The ministers reviewed the visit paid by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Saudi Arabia and the talks he held with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed.

They highlighted the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Saudi Arabia and China and the harmonization plan between Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative. They also highlighted the signing of 46 agreements and memoranda of understanding between the government and private sectors to expand cooperation in various fields.

The ministers welcomed the outcomes of the Saudi-China Summit, Riyadh Gulf Cooperation Council-China Summit for Cooperation and Development and Riyadh Arab-China Summit for Cooperation and Development.

The summits embodied the Kingdom’s keenness on strengthening the deep-rooted friendship between Arab countries and China and on consolidating the bonds of cooperation and partnership to achieve more growth and prosperity.

Furthermore, the cabinet highlighted the speech delivered by Crown Prince Mohammed during his chairing of the 43rd session of the Supreme Council of the GCC. The speech reflected the Kingdom’s keenness on activating cooperation in all fields and determination to bolster joint work in line with the ambitious visions of development adopted by GCC countries.

The ministers reviewed reveral regional and international developments. They underscored the Kingdom’s remarks at the Conference of the States Parties that oversees the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. The Kingdom stressed its backing of the convention that aims to preserve international security and peace, adding that this position is an extension of its firm policy that aims to bolster cooperation in banning all forms of weapons of mass destruction and their proliferation.
