Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir held a press conference on Thursday in the capital Riyadh on the Public Prosecution’s investigation into Jamal Khashoggi’s death.
Jubeir said during the conference that the "Saudi Public Prosecution is still seeking answers to a number of inquiries” and stressed the kingdom's rejection to any attempt to politicize the Khashoggi case.
The FM said Saudi Arabia is being subjected to “a vicious and illogical attack,” rejecting international meddling in the case and confirming that the kingdom has "an independent and effective judiciary.”
He said Qatari media was running an organized campaign against the kingdom by exploiting the case of Khashoggi.
Jubeir further said that the accused and the victim in this case are Saudi nationals and reassured that the government is committed to holding those involved in the case accountable.
The Foreign Minister said that the Saudi Crown Prince has nothing to do with Khashoggi's death.
He also stressed that Khashoggi's case will not change the kingdom’s policies in confronting terrorism and Iran.
