Development efforts for Al-Awamiyah’s central complex in the eastern governorate, Qatif, accelerated a year after Saudi security forces defeated terrorist sleeper cells which previously infested al-Mousawarah neighborhood.
Touching on 70 percent completion, the Mousawarah Development project was visited for inspection by Deputy Governor of the Eastern Region Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman.
The project infuses heritage and nature with modern architecture and progress.
Covering 180,000 square meters, Mousawarah also covers a number of architectural features providing multiple services attending both residents and visitors in Qatif.
During the visit, the deputy governor of the Eastern Province stressed the importance of the project and its strategic location, which serves a large segment of the local population.
Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman pointed out that Qatif is similar to other provinces the government is paying close attention to for development prospects.
Eastern Province Mayor Fahad Al-Jubair said that the project is 70 percent into completion, and includes three mega buildings joined together by a structural canopy covering the main square.
It also includes a library, conference and exhibitions halls, as well as heritage towers.
The towers were designed to relay the region’s architectural history.
Not to mention that a local heritage-inspired building, built on an area of 1200 m2, and mimicking eastern region culture will star the project.
Social and economic activity will take place in a 4,327 m2 popular market offering a total of seven two-story buildings ready for investment.
The landscape will also incorporate 94,000 m2 in parks and public gardens, of which 55,000 m2 are green areas inspired by the agricultural environment.
