Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, discussed in a telephone call with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday efforts to counter Iran’s destabilizing behavior.
They also addressed the need for stronger maritime security in order to promote freedom of navigation, said the State Department.
On Yemen, Crown Prince Mohammed and Pompeo reaffirmed their strong support for UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths’ efforts to advance the political process.
They also tackled other bilateral and regional developments, with Pompeo thanking the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia’s support and engagement across many regional challenges.
