
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received on Wednesday a telephone call from German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
They discussed means to unite efforts to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak.
They also tackled arrangements for the extraordinary virtual G20 summit, which Saudi Arabia had called for to address the outbreak and its impact on the global economy. The summit is set for next week.
Saudi Arabia assumed the presidency of the G20 for 2020.
Crown Prince Mohammed had tackled the coronavirus fight in separate telephone calls on Tuesday with French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
