Saudi Coast Guard Rescues Iranian Oil Ship

Saudi coast guard rescued an Iranian oil ship near Jeddah Islamic Port in the Red Sea, the Saudi Press news Agency (SPA) said early on Thursday.

The 26-sailor crew of the ship "Happiness 1" carrying oil products were all rescued, SPA added.

The Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Jeddah was notified of a distress call by the vessel, which was around 70 nautical miles from Jeddah’s Islamic Port.

According to SPA, the vessel had a crew of 26, including 24 Iranians and two Bangladeshis.

Saudi authorities said various government agencies were involved in the operation, including those who handle environmental protection.
