A Saudi citizen was wounded on Thursday following a missile attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen.

The female citizen was wounded when the projectile landed on a village on the outskirts of Saudi Arabia’s Jizan city.

Official spokesman for the civil defense directorate in Jizan Abdulkhaleq al-Qahtani said that the rocket attack took place at dawn.

He confirmed the injury of the citizen, saying she was transferred to hospital for treatment.

Later on Thursday, Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile that was fired from Yemen's Saada province at the Kingdom's Najran city.

Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki condemned the attack, saying that no one was injured in the incident.

The failed attack brings to 194 the number of ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia.
