The Saudi cabinet underscored on Tuesday the joint statement issued between the Saudi and United Arab Emirates foreign ministries on Yemen.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet session that was held at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE stressed their complete keenness to preserve Yemen, the interests of its people and its security, stability, independence and territorial integrity under the leadership of legitimate President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.
They stressed their joint commitment to confronting the Iran-backed Houthi militia coup.
They also called for all warring parties in southern Yemen to join the Jeddah dialogue aimed at addressing the causes and repercussions of the unrest.
They rejected and condemned the attempts to tarnish the image of the UAE in wake of the clashes.
Saudi Arabia’s call for the rival parties to the Jeddah talks stems from its keenness on prioritizing dialogue over sedition and strife and uniting ranks to confront the Houthis and other terror groups.
King Salman also briefed the ministers on his discussions with President Hadi, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
The ministers then discussed the latest regional and international developments.
They congratulated Sudan over the signing of the historic power-sharing agreement between its military council and opposition forces.
Saudi Arabia hailed the deal that aims to achieve the interests of Sudan and preserve its security, safety and stability.
Moreover, King Salman praised the success of Saudi Arabia in organizing the Hajj pilgrimage, hoping for even further success in the future in service of Islam and Muslims.
He thanked all concerned authorities for their efforts in ensuring the annual event was held smoothly.
