The Saudi government reiterated its support for combating terrorism in all its forms at a weekly cabinet session on Tuesday.
Ministers echoed the Kingdom’s support for international efforts aimed at fighting terror, disrupting its financing and confronting the ideology that justifies it.
During the virtual session chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s statements made at the recently-held Second United Nations High-Level Conference (HLC) of Heads of Counter-Terrorism Agencies of Member States and the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.
The Kingdom was keen in both events to stress its position as a vital partner to eliminate the terrorist organization, given the threat it poses on international peace and security.
The cabinet further renewed its firm positions aimed at maintaining security, stability and prosperity in the region and the world and enhancing the concepts of peace, co-existence and sustainable development.
It vowed to find feasible solutions to the environmental and climate issues and the protection of earth and nature. It pointed to the Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives, which will contribute to achieving global targets.
The Cabinet also noted Saudi Arabia’s ranking of second in the world among countries committed to cybersecurity at a global level.
The ministers consider that the achievement reflects the progress in the maturity and governance of the system since the launch of Vision 2030, the country’s national reform program. Saudi Arabia ranked 46th in the world at the time of the program’s announcement.
