Saudi Authorities Isolate Industrial City in Dammam

Security forces man a checkpoint during curfew in Saudi Arabia. (SPA)

The Saudi Interior Ministry isolated on Saturday the Second Industrial City in the eastern city of al-Dammam from Sunday, preventing entry and exit until further notice, to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

Freight shipments will be able to come and go from the area, reported the Saudi Press Agency, citing an Interior Ministry official.

The decision allows vital factories to operate at one third capacity, SPA added.

The Kingdom has registered 24,934 virus cases and 900 deaths.
