Saudi security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle more than four million Captagon tablets through Al-Batha land crossing.

In a statement on Friday, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority said up to 4,152,000 tablets were found hidden in a consignment shipped into the Kingdom via Al-Batha.

The report said three people were arrested and referred to the prosecution authorities.

Earlier in March, Saudi authorities also foiled an attempt to smuggle over 2,015,116 captagon pills hidden in containers shaped as tomatoes and pomegranates.

The tablets were found during a routine inspection of one of the vehicles entering Al-Wadiah port.
