The Saudi government welcomed on Tuesday the United Nations’ adoption last week of a resolution to support the ceasefire agreement in the Yemeni coastal city of Hodeidah, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz presided over the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.
Resolution 2452 calls for the establishment of a special political mission to support the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached in Stockholm in December 2018.
The government also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, including the weekend’s Arab Economic and Social Development summit that was held in Beirut.
It highlighted the decisions taken at the meeting in regards to bolstering joint Arab work, securing the Arab economy and exerting efforts towards easing the burden of refugees on host countries.
The ministers stressed the Kingdom’s constant support for joint Arab causes.
In addition, the cabinet highlighted the NEOM Founding Board’s approval last week of the strategic concept of the masterplan for NEOM Bay, the first urban area to be developed in NEOM.
It also noted Saudi Arabia’s participation at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which was held on January 12 – 19.
The Kingdom had presented at the event its future vision for sustainable energy, as well as the progress it has achieved in this sector.
