Saudi Arabia welcomed on Friday the declaration of a ceasefire between the east-based Libyan parliament and Tripoli-based Presidential Council.
The Foreign Ministry stressed the need to kick off internal political dialogue that “prioritizes Libya’s national interest and paves the way for a permanent solution that ensures the security and stability of the brotherly Libyan people.”
In a statement, it stressed that this solution should “prevent foreign meddling that jeopardizes the security of the neighboring Arab region.”
