
The Saudi Council of Ministers welcomed the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement by Yemen’s legitimate government and the Southern Transitional Council and the announcement of the formation of a government of political competencies that includes all the country’s components.
During a video conference on Tuesday, the Saudi Cabinet emphasized that the Riyadh Agreement was an important step for achieving a political solution and ending the Yemeni crisis, stressing the need to maintain efforts to support the country in its march towards security, stability and prosperity.
The session, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, also touched on developments in Sudan and called on “allied and friendly states to urgently respond to the country’s needs by cancelling its international debts, in parallel with the US administration’s announcement to officially remove Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.
At the beginning of the session, the Council touched on figures and indicators included in the State’s general budget, which reflected the government’s endeavor to support economic growth and comprehensive development.
In this regard, King Salman renewed his call that the priorities should be focused on protecting public health and safety and curbing the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy.
The Cabinet also welcomed the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries’ participation in the 41st session of the GCC Supreme Council in Al-Ula next Tuesday, hoping that the work of this summit would be crowned with success, promote joint action and expand cooperation and integration between member-states.
On the political level, the Council expressed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the terrorist attacks on vital installations, including an attack on a fuel ship in Jeddah, stressing that such criminal acts targeted international security and stability of energy supplies.
