The Saudi government expressed on Tuesday its solidarity with Sudan as it confronts current economic challenges.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the government meeting that was held Riyadh.

The support for Khartoum reflects the Saudi leadership’s constant keenness on its security and stability, said the ministers according to the Saudi Press Agency.

They stressed that the security and stability of Sudan “mean the security and stability of the Kingdom.”

This was demonstrated by Riyadh's dispatching to Sudan last week a ministerial delegation aimed at bolstering economic and trade ties with the country.

The cabinet also highlighted Monday’s inauguration of the National Industry Development and Logistics Program (NILDP). The ceremony was sponsored by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

The program aims to transform Saudi Arabia into a leading industrial power and global logistics platform. The NIDLP consolidates integration in the sectors of industry, mining, energy and logistics. It also seeks to develop qualitative industries, increase non-oil exports, reduce imports, raise contribution of the target sectors to the Kingdom's gross domestic product (GDP) and attract foreign investments.

The program aims to attract more than SR1.7 trillion in local and international investments.

It will increase the contribution of the local content to more than SR700 billion and create 1.6 million new jobs and raise the volume of Saudi exports to more SR1 trillion.

The cabinet then reviewed the latest regional and international developments.

It condemned all oppressive Israeli practices against Palestinians, which only “deepen the discrimination against them, destroy their national identity and violate their legitimate rights.”
