Saudi Arabia Summons its Ambassador in Lebanon over Kordahi’s Remarks

General view of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (SPA)

The Saudi Foreign Ministry summoned on Wednesday its ambassador in Beirut to hand him a formal complaint in wake comments by Lebanese Information Minister George Kordahi.

Kordahi had made offensive comments against the Saudi-led Arab coalition in Yemen.

The Ministry expressed its regret over the offenses against the Kingdom and the members of the coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, saying they are blatantly biased towards the terrorist Iran-backed Houthi militias that are threatening the security and stability of the region.

The Ministry said Kordahi’s remarks violate the most basic of political norms and are not in line with the historic relations that bind the Saudi and Lebanese people.
