Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah called on Friday for intensifying efforts to reach a comprehensive and fair solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The solution, he stressed, must allow the Palestinians to establish their own independent state based on the 1967 border, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and according to international resolutions and the 2002 Arab peace initiative.
Prince Faisal telephoned on Friday his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki to discuss the latest Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip.
He underscored the Kingdom’s condemnation of the illegal practices of the Israeli authorities, urging the need for it to immediately halt is escalation that violates all international norms and agreements.
