The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development maintains intensive efforts to search for new sectors that provide job opportunities and reduce the unemployment rate.
On Thursday, the ministry announced its decision to localize the professions of law and education and uncovered an ongoing study to improve the wages of security and safety guards.
Dr. Akram Jadawi, a public policy expert, told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development was working on some promising decisions that contribute to reducing unemployment and raising the efficiency of the Saudi labor market.
Generating new opportunities for citizens in education is a good step amid the presence of qualified and competent teachers, he underlined.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, a member of the Saudi Economic Society, emphasized the presence of Saudi legal competencies capable of covering the needs of the field.
The Saudi market is currently witnessing major developments and projects in partnership with the private sector, he said, stressing that the ministry’s recent moves would increase job opportunities in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
For his part, Abdulaziz Alkhorayef, director of the Alkhorayef Law Firm, stated that the role of the Ministry of Human Resources was effective, especially with its approval to localize the legal sector.
“This is a move that all lawyers in the Kingdom await,” he said, adding: “It is almost the most important event in the history of the legal profession in the Kingdom.”
Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, said during his meeting on Thursday with the members of the National Committee for Contractors and the National Committee for Consulting Professions, that his ministry was seeking to create job opportunities for Saudi citizens in the various sectors.
He added that the ministry would also announce a decision to nationalize the legal and education professions, revealing that measures will be taken to improve the situation of security and safety personnel working on corporate contracts in ministries and quasi-public entities, in addition to contractors with the private sector.
"We are working on improving the Saudi labor market environment, raise its efficiency and make it in line with global labor markets, in terms of attractiveness, high competitiveness and attracting skilled people,” he noted.
