Saudi Health Minister Fahad al-Jalajel announced on Wednesday that 70 percent of the population has been fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
Jalajel reiterated the importance of commitment to the appropriate precautionary measures against COVD-19 virus.
“The Kingdom, praise be to God, has reached 70% of immunization with two doses of the Corona vaccine. Commitment to the appropriate precautionary measures at this stage without any leniency is crucial,” he said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior urged all citizens and expatriates in the Kingdom to receive a booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine six months after taking their second jab in order to enhance the community's immunity.
The Ministry clarified that wearing masks and maintaining physical distance is mandatory before entering stadiums and big event halls, except for open spaces like public parks and walkaways.
"The open spaces do not include sports stadiums, event halls that are designed to host 500 or more people at the same time, regardless of the number of actual attendees,” the Ministry’s statement said.
It stressed that organizers of events and activities must verify, through the "Tawakkalna" application, the health status of the attendees.
It reiterated adherence to precautionary measures, including wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing at places where the vaccination status is not verified, such as mosques, public utility markets including vegetable and livestock markets, fish markets, and slaughterhouses.
Everyone must also observe the precautions at small shops.
