Starting from 1 am on Monday, Saudi air, land and sea ports will be open for departing travelers who received the Covid-19 vaccine, more than 14 months after the official authorities decided to suspend departure to curb the spread of the pandemic.
The Civil Aviation Authority issued a circular to all airlines operating in the Kingdom regarding the new travel procedures.
Vaccinated citizens who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, as well as those who received one dose 14 days earlier, will be eligible to travel. They will have to display proof of their vaccination on the Tawakkalna app.
Citizens, who have recovered from the infection and have not yet received the vaccine, are also permitted to travel, provided that the duration of recovery from the infection is below six months, with a confirmation of the same on the relevant app.
Saudi Arabia has so far administered more than 11.5 million doses of vaccine, with around one million doses per week. The Ministry of Health confirmed that vaccination centers continue to operate during the days of Eid al-Fitr, calling on citizens and residents to register through the dedicated application and to adhere to the precautionary measures to limit the spread of the virus.
The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday 837 new infections and 1,012 recoveries, while the total number of active cases reached 8,363 of which 1,331 patients are in critical condition.
