Saudi Arabia Restructures Shura and Senior Scholars Councils

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, issued on Sunday a royal order on the reformation of the Senior Scholars Council headed by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh.

The council includes 20 members.

The royal order also appointed Sheikh Ghaiheb bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghaihab as an advisor at the Royal Court, at a rank of minister; Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Luhaidan as Chairman of the Supreme Court, at a rank of minister; Dr. Mishaal bin Fahim bin Mohammed Al-Sulami as Vice Speaker of the Shura Council, at a rank of minister, and Dr. Hanan bint Abdurrahim bin Mutlaq Al-Ahmadi as Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, at a rank of excellence.

King Salman also appointed Sheikh Abdallah Al Sheikh as head of the Shura Council.

He ordered the reformation of the council with 150 members.
