Saudi Arabia registered on Tuesday 3,392 new coronavirus cases, raising its total to 217,108.
In a daily briefing on the outbreak, the Health Ministry said 5,205 more people have recovered from the disease, taking the tally to 154,839.
Of the new infections, 308 were reported in Riyadh, 246 in al-Taef, 232 in Madinah, 227 in Jeddah, 219 in al-Dammam, 141 in al-Qatif and 132 in the holy city of Makkah.
Forty-nine more people have died from the virus, taking the death toll to 2017.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said thousands of clinics are carrying out virus tests throughout the Kingdom.
