Saudi Arabia registered on Monday 472 new coronavirus cases, raising its total to 4,934.

Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said 44 patients have recovered form the disease, taking the overall total to 805.

Six fatalities were reported, raising the tally to 65, he told a press briefing.

The Health Ministry recommended that people use electronic payment methods when purchasing products at various points of sale.

It predicted that it will detect more virus cases as it expands the scope of its testing.

Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah noted the spike in coronavirus cases in the Kingdom this week, adding: “We are confronted with a major challenge.”

He urged authorities to take the greatest precautions at worker housing areas where an increase in cases was registered.

He underlined the need to follow health guidelines and social distancing. “Everyone must remain at home and leave only in essential cases,” he added.
