Saudi Arabia reported on Thursday 1,158 new coronavirus cases, raising its total to 13,930.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said 11,884 of the cases were active and 93 were in critical condition.
Fifteen percent of the new infections were confirmed among Saudis and the rest among non-Saudis. Most of the new cases were diagnosed through active testing.
Seven fatalities from the virus were registered, bringing the Kingdom’s toll to 121, Abdelali told a daily press briefing about the coronavirus. Recoveries have risen to 1,925.
Active testing is often taking place in crowded neighborhoods and worker housing areas, said the spokesman, predicting that infections will rise as the testing continues.
