Saudi Arabia registered on Tuesday 1,147 new coronavirus cases, raising its total to 11,631.
Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Abdelali revealed that five fatalities were reported, raising the toll to 109, while the number of recoveries has risen to 1,640.
The Interior Ministry, meanwhile, announced it was easing curfew hours in the Kingdom during the holy fasting month of Ramadan that begins later this week, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The new hours will allow people to leave their homes between 9 am and 5 pm, said a source at the ministry.
The amendments apply to areas that have not been subject to a 24-hour lockdown.
People will be allowed to leave their homes for essential needs, such as health reasons and purchasing food. Only two people are allowed inside a single vehicle.
