Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz held telephone talks on Thursday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
King Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and adamant rejection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to annex the Jordan Valley.
The announcement is a “dangerous escalation” against the Palestinian people and a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international norms, he added.
Israel’s attempt to alter the status quo will not eliminate the Palestinian people’s rights, he declared.
For his part, Abbas hailed King Salman’s keenness on the Palestinian cause and the Kingdom’s firm stance towards Palestine at various regional and international forums.
