The Saudi Cabinet renewed on Tuesday the Kingdom's rejection and condemnation of the Israeli Knesset's adoption of the "Jewish Nation-State" law, which violates the provisions of international law and principles of human rights and impedes international efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
During the session that was chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Cabinet called on the international community to reject such a law and all other Israeli attempts to perpetuate racial discrimination against the Palestinian people aimed at obliterating their national identity and undermining their legitimate rights.
Furthermore, Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad stated that the Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's appreciation for the United Nations and its agencies to spare children the brunt of the destructive wars and the suffering of the diaspora around the world. It reiterated in this regard the Kingdom's support for all measures and precautions to maintain their safety and reduce the loss of civilian lives.
The Cabinet stressed, therefore, the Kingdom's call to the United Nations Security Council to condemn the actions by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen for recruiting children and using them as human shields. It also urged it to condemn their firing of missiles from platforms installed in civilian neighborhoods in blatant disregard for international laws and humanitarian norms.
At the outset of the session, the King welcomed pilgrims who started arriving in the Kingdom from all over the world to perform the annual Hajj rituals.
He directed all concerned public and private sectors to exert all efforts to facilitate their pilgrimage.
He also briefed the Cabinet on his talks on Monday with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki that covered bilateral relations and ways of developing.
Awwad said, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, that the Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments.
It highlighted the signing of an agreement to establish a coordination council between the Kingdom and Kuwait, reaffirming close ties between the two countries and keenness on developing them to serve joint interests.
