Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed Wednesday that the Kingdom stands by the people of Afghanistan during this “crucial stage” in their history.
The statements came during his participation in the virtual ministerial meeting on Afghanistan, during which he affirmed the Kingdom’s support for the Afghan people and the choices they make.
The Prince affirmed that the Kingdom hopes that all Afghan parties and Taliban would work to achieve peace, hoping that the formation of a caretaker government will be a step in the right direction toward achieving security and stability, rejecting violence and extremism, and building a bright future.
Prince Faisal also expressed his sincere condolences to the Afghan people, and the families of victims who lost their lives during the Kabul airport attacks.
He stressed that the Kingdom places high importance on supporting ways through which Afghanistan can overcome its current challenges.
