Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the government meeting that was held virtually from Neom amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The cabinet reiterated Riyadh’s condemnation of the failed coup against Sudan’s legitimate authorities last week.
At the onset of the meeting, King Salman expressed his gratitude to various world leaders for their congratulations to Saudi Arabia as it celebrated its 91st National Day last week.
The cabinet reviewed various meetings and talks that were held between Saudi officials and world leaders throughout the week that were aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and cooperation. These contacts reflect Saudi Arabia’s constant keenness on constructively engaging with the international community to consolidate security and peace for the good of mankind.
The cabinet highlighted King Salman’s speech before the 76th United Nations General Assembly last week, underscoring his vision over various global issues and challenges at hand. His address, continued the cabinet, stressed the pivotal and pioneering humanitarian, economic and development role Saudi Arabia plays in the region and world. Its foreign policy prioritizes security and stability and supporting dialogue and peaceful solutions to crises.
The ministers reviewed various developments, underlining Saudi Arabia’s legitimate right to defend itself against attacks by armed drones, ballistic missiles and booby-trapped vessels launched by the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias in Yemen against civilians.
