Saudi Arabia, Palestinians Agree on Joint Business Council

The Crown Prince and the Palestinian President hold talks in Riyadh. SPA

Saudi Arabia and the Palestinians agreed on Thursday to establish a joint economic committee and a business council.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday, met with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the same day, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

SPA said that the leaders reached "an agreement on the establishment of a joint economic committee and on a Saudi-Palestinian business council.”

During their meeting, Abbas and the Crown Prince reviewed the latest developments in Palestine and exerted efforts to ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the news agency added.
