
Saudi Arabia stressed that it was granting women their civil and humanitarian rights, without any discrimination, and working on removing challenges to empower them in all fields with continuous efforts to develop their talents, invest their energy and get the adequate opportunity to build their future and contribute to developing the Kingdom’s community and economy.
Labor market statistics have shown that Saudi women’s participation in the labor market has risen from 17.4 percent in 2017 to 19.6 percent in 2018.
The announcement was made during the “Woman in Vision 2030” seminar as part of the activities of the 33rd Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture. Shura Council member Dr. Fauziyah Abalkhail was the moderator.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Tamader Al-Rammah focused on the women’s presence in the labor market, showing that Vision 2030 stresses three basic issues: a vital community, prosperous economy and ambitious nation.
Rammah noted that the government is keen to empower women, lauding the fact that the Kingdom is among the pioneering states in approving UN women-related agreements.
Director General of the women's branch of the Institute of Public Administration Dr. Hind Al-Sheikh noted that Saudi women garnered a huge share of the ambitious targets of Vision 2030.
She added that all the vision goals directly target and benefit women.
Nabil Al-Dabal, the human resources executive director for Aramco, said that the kingdom was and is still fascinating the world in its achievements and ambitions in diverse fields.
