Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud Al-Moajab emphasized the need for all government authorities to join forces in order to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
He said that the advancement and development the Kingdom is witnessing under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman require joint efforts and more cooperation to attain the goals of the Vision.
The Attorney General inaugurated on Monday the Public Prosecution’s Financial Reports Office at the headquarters of the General Auditing Bureau (GAB), along with Dr. Hussam Al-Anqari, chairman of GAB.
In remarks during the event, he noted that fighting corruption should not be limited to government departments, but should include major companies.
Such efforts require monitoring and follow-up by the competent authorities, he underlined, adding that cooperation between government agencies was a national duty.
Al-Moajab also hailed the collaboration between the Public Prosecution and the GAB.
“Our cooperation with the General Auditing Bureau is well-rooted and very active,” he stated, adding that over the past years, the GAB has proved its ability and high efficiency in recovering many of the state’s stolen and misappropriated funds.
The new office will enable the GAB to carry out specialized auditing work and uncover financial violations, and then the Public Prosecution will conduct investigations and demand deterrent penalties against violators, according to the Prosecutor General.
