Saudi Arabia reported on Monday 2,593 new coronavirus cases, raising its total to 57,345.
Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said recoveries in the Kingdom have exceeded 50 percent. A total of 3,026 more patients have been declared virus-free.
He credited the high recovery rate to the efficient medical teams, sufficient medical supplies, high hospital capacity and effective adopted protocols.
Saudi Arabia is carrying out between 15,000 and 18,000 daily tests for the coronavirus and plans to double those figures, he told a daily press briefing on the outbreak.
