Saudi Arabia is launching government-backed initiatives to face the repercussions of the outbreak of coronavirus on the labor sector. The Kingdom is seeking to enhance the flexibility of labor mobility through programs directed towards private sector enterprises.

In this context, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced it would allow the transfer of foreign workers between the different private sector companies without conditions.

The Ministry’s Ajeer hiring portal will allow private companies to transfer their foreign workers without restrictions, which would give them the opportunity to benefit from the available work force, especially in wake of the travel restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In a statement Thursday, the Ministry said the decision was aimed at providing cadres to sectors that have a high demand for manpower during this period, and would contribute to reducing expenses for the sectors which have a slow activity in the current circumstances.

In parallel, the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) offered a set of innovative services and remote solutions to support entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises that wish to expand through a dedicated program.

Services offered in the electronic platforms include an interactive guide for entrepreneurs and a number of viable solutions, as well as applications for managing, developing and operating small and medium enterprises, and providing enterprises and entrepreneurs with data and information to help them make important decisions for their businesses.
