Saudi Arabia and the other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council announced on Wednesday sanctions against the Iran-backed “Hezbollah” party.

The sanctions target party chief Hassan Nasrallah and his deputy Naim Qassem.

“This action was taken in partnership with the United States, as the co-chair of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), as well as all other TFTC member states: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates,” said a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

The sanctions also target three members of “Hezbollah’s” Shura council: Mohammead Yazbeck, Hussein al-Khalil, and Ibrahim al-Amin al-Sayyed.

Talal Hamiyah, Ali Youssef Charara, Spectrum Group, Hasan Ebrahimi, Maher Trading, Hashem Safieddine, Adham Tabaja, Al-Inmaa Group, and Al-Inmaa Engineering and Contracting were also included in the latest sanctions.

The announcement by the GCC came shortly after the US Treasury imposed additional sanctions on Nasrallah and Qassem.

“As a result of today’s action, all property and interests in property of all designated individuals and entities that are in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or in the possession or control of Saudi persons must be blocked and reported to competent authorities,” continued the SPA statement.

“The Law of Combating the Crimes of Terrorism and it's Financing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia generally prohibit all dealings by KSA persons or within (or transiting) the Saudi Arabia that involve any property or interests in property of blocked or designated persons.”
