A general view of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (SPA)

Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that the Saudi residency has been granted to the first batch of applicants of the premium residency program.

Seventy-three applicants from 19 countries have been granted the residency, said the Premium Residency Center according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The applicants included foreign residents of the Kingdom and others from outside the country.

They include doctors, investors and others seeking to settle down with their families.

More applications are being processed.

Thousands of applicants have submitted premium residency requests through the center’s online portal.

Premium Residency Center chief Bandar bin Sleiman al-Ayed said: “The Kingdom welcomes all brothers and friends residing in the country or who want to come and live on its territory as effective members of Saudi society.”
