Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports started to automatically extend the validity of residency permits for expatriates outside the Kingdom and the validity of visit visas, exit and re-entry visas for free until Nov. 30, following the directives of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The validity of residency permits, as well as exit and re-entry visas for residents in the countries on the ban list, as well as the visit visas for visitors in the countries on the ban list due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be extended until Nov. 30.
The General Directorate of Passports has confirmed that the extension will be done automatically in cooperation with the National Information Center.
Currently, the countries facing the travel ban are India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Brazil, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Lebanon.
The move came in line with the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, whereby the Minister of Finance issued the extension as part of the government efforts to deal with the effects and consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In other news, Saudi Arabia announced six deaths from COVID-19 and 102 new infections on Friday.
Of the new cases, 38 were recorded in Riyadh, 19 in Makkah, seven in the Eastern Province, seven in Jazan, seven in Madinah, four in Asir, four in Najran, three in Tabuk, two in Al-Jouf, two in the Northern Borders region, two in Hail and two in Al-Baha.
The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 534,908 after 74 more patients recovered from the virus.
A total of 8,610 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.
Over 39 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine have been administered in the Kingdom to date.
