Saudi Arabia Expresses ‘Extreme’ Concern over Sudan Developments, Urges Restraint

Saudi Arabis said on Monday it was following with “extreme concern” the unfolding developments in Sudan.

“It calls for restraint, calm, de-escalation, and to preserve all the political and economic gains that have been achieved and all that aims to protect the unity of the ranks among all political components in brotherly Sudan,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.

Sudan’s military seized power from a transitional government on Monday and soldiers killed at least two people and wounded dozens as street protests broke out against the coup.
