Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday that it was lifting its travel ban against Lebanon.
Saudi Ambassador Walid Bukhari made the statement in Beirut following a meeting between royal court envoy Nizar al-Aloula and Prime Minister Saad Hariri. Aloula had also met with President Michel Aoun.
“Given that the security conditions, which prompted the warning, have improved and given the reassurances we have heard from officials, we decided to end the ban,” he said.
“We are working on forming a joint committee to bolster bilateral ties,” revealed Bukhari.
In November 2017, Saudi Arabia advised its citizens not to visit Lebanon and those already in the country to leave.
The lifting of the Saudi warning comes two weeks after a new cabinet was formed in Lebanon.
