Saudi Arabia, Egypt Stress Keenness to Consolidate Strategic Cooperation

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, sent on Thursday a written message to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.

The message was handed over by Minister of the State for African Affairs at the Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Qattan to the King of Jordan.

For his part, the King of Jordan has sent his greetings to King Salman, wishing him and the Saudi people steady progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of deepening fraternal relations binding the two countries and keenness on enhancing cooperation between the two sides in various fields in order to serve the Arab and Islamic issues.

King Salman also sent on Thursday a written message to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The message confirmed strong and historic relations between the two brotherly peoples and countries and the Kingdom's keenness to consolidate strategic cooperation frameworks in various fields in addition to continued joint action and coordination with Egypt on regional and international issues, SPA said.

This came during the Egyptian President's meeting with Saudi Minister of the State and Member of the Cabinet Dr. Isaam bin Saeed and Minister of the State for African Affairs Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Qattan.

In a press statement, the Spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency disclosed that Sisi asked to send his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, affirming that the Saudi-Egyptian strategic relations represent a foundation for the stability of the Arab region in light of critical situations and various challenges facing Arab states.

The Egyptian President looks forward to develop aspects of serious cooperation and constructive consultation between the two countries in various fields, SPA quoted Sisi as saying.
