Saudi Arabia Eases Qatif Lockdown

Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday it was easing restrictions imposed on the al-Qatif province that were introduced since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in the Kingdom.

An official source at the Interior Ministry announced that people can now enter and exit the province, reported the Saudi Press Agency. The changes will be effective as of Thursday.

The 9 am to 5 pm curfew will remain in place, he added.

The source said the changes were made at the recommendation of health authorities in line with precautions over the coronavirus.
