Saudi Arabia Eases Lockdown in Madinah

Roads are deserted in Madinah amid curfew over the coronavirus. (SPA)

Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday it was easing the lockdown, imposed over the coronavirus, in the holy city of Madinah.

The restrictions will be relaxed in the neighborhoods of Sharibat, Bani Zafar, Qurban, al-Jomaa and parts of al-Iskan and Bani Khidra, said the Interior Ministry.

The decision is effective as of Saturday. Residents will be able to move between 9 am and 5 pm.

The easing of the restrictions is based on the recommendations of the relevant health authorities, said an official source at the ministry, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
