Saudi Arabia declares Sunday the first day of Eid al-Fitr. (Twitter)

Saudi Arabia declared on Friday that Saturday is the final day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan after the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal was not sighted.

This means that the first day of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which is celebrated to mark the end of Ramadan, will fall on Sunday.

Preventive measures over the coronavirus were respected by the moon-sighting teams.
