Saudi Arabia: COVID-19 Daily Recoveries Exceed Number of Cases

Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali. DPA

The Saudi Health Ministry said Wednesday that 2,365 people recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the highest number of recoveries recorded in a single day.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said during his daily press briefing that there were 1,905 new cases, raising the Kingdom’s tally to 44,830.

The number of recoveries has reached 17,622, he said.

The spokesman also said that nine people died, raising the death toll from the coronavirus to 273.

Abdelali reassured that all COVID-19 patients, no matter what their cases are, are receiving the appropriate services.

Saudi Arabia will enforce a countrywide 24-hour curfew during the five-day Eid al-Fitr holiday to help stem the spread of the virus, the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

The curfew will apply from May 23-May 27 following the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
