Saudi Arabia condemned on Monday the sabotage operation that targeted commercial vessels off the coast of the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
An official source at the Foreign Ministry said that this “criminal act poses a threat to the safety and security of marine navigation.”
This in turn negatively affects regional and international peace and security, he added.
He expressed Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with the UAE and all the measures it takes to preserve its security and interests.
The vessels were targeted in the UAE’s territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman as they were sailing near the emirate of Fujairah.
