Saudi Arabia Condemns Mogadishu Bombing

Saturday's car bombing was the deadliest in the Somali capital in two years. (Reuters)

Saudi Arabia condemned on Saturday the massive car bombing in the Somali capital Mogadishu that left at least 90 people dead.

The Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry expressed Riyadh’s rejection of all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, offering its condolences to the families of the victims.

The attack has not been claimed, however Mogadishu is regularly hit by car bombings and attacks waged by Al-Shabaab militants allied to Al-Qaeda.

At least 16 of those killed were students from the capital's private Banadir University, who had been travelling on a bus when the car bomb detonated at a busy intersection southwest of the Somali capital.
