A Riyadh court sentenced on Monday a Saudi female detainee to prison on charges of incitement to change the Kingdom’s ruling system.
The detainee was also charged with serving a foreign agenda inside the Kingdom.
She was accused of supporting this agenda through online activity.
Other charges included cooperation with several individuals and entities that have been accused of criminal acts in violation of the anti-terrorism law.
In a public court hearing, which was attended by Asharq Al-Awsat, the accused was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison, effective from the date she was arrested.
The hearing was also attended by her relatives and human rights representatives.
The presiding judge said the detainee was found guilty of the charges in line with article 43 of the anti-terrorism law.
The accused confessed to her crimes and voluntarily documented her confession, he added.
