
Saudi Arabia has changed the concept of relief work in an attempt to achieve global leadership in the humanitarian field by providing quality humanitarian, relief and development aid to 40 countries across the world through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid And Relief Center (KSRelief), which was founded in May 2015.
KSRelief has implemented 419 projects in cooperation with 122 local and international partners at a total cost of more than $1.7 billion since its establishment until last April.
This is an extension of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian and pioneering role towards the international community throughout the world.
The Kingdom established the center in order to alleviate the suffering of people, so they can live a decent life.
It depends on humanitarian principles that are based on providing assistance to the needy and relief for the affected in any part of the world through a precise monitoring mechanism and advanced and rapid means of transport with the help and through the UN organizations and international and local non-profit organizations in the beneficiary countries.
For his part, Adviser to the Royal Court Dr. Abdullah al-Rabiah, General Supervisor of KSRelief, said that the center has started changing the concept of relief work with the United Nations organizations.
It also seeks to be a leading global model in relief and humanitarian work.
He pointed out that during the past three years the center has reached 40 countries in different continents of the world and provided a lot of humanitarian aid, relief and development, with the participation of international, regional and local partners in recipient countries.
Rabiah explained that the center takes into consideration the circumstances of those affected in its implemented projects and programs.
“The assistance includes all relief and humanitarian sectors, including relief security, camp management, shelter, early recovery, protection, education, nutrition, health, support for humanitarian actions, logistics and emergency communications.
