Saudi Arabia suspended on Thursday entertainment activities and dine-in services at restaurants to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Saudi Arabia this week suspended entry to the Kingdom from 20 countries, with the exception of Saudi citizens, diplomats, and medical practitioners and their families.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement early Thursday that entertainment activities and events as well as in-restaurant dining would be suspended for 10 days, open to renewal.

The Saudi Press Agency said the new procedures came amid “the emergence of indicators of an increase in the epidemic curve in some regions of Saudi Arabia that were caused by lax implementation of the preventive and precautionary measures and approved protocols.”
