Saudi Arabia called on Thursday for an emergency meeting of OPEC and other oil producers, a grouping known as OPEC+, to stabilize the oil market.
Riyadh called for the meeting, saying it wanted a fair oil agreement to stabilize the market, state news agency (SPA) reported.
This invitation comes in line with the Kingdom's constant efforts to support the global economy in this exceptional circumstance, and in appreciation of US President Donald Trump's request, SPA said.
The announcement drove oil prices as much as 30 percent higher on the day.
